Phone Card Statistics

International Phone Card Review is running statistics on the basis of the data from ComFi.com. According to the statistics, in March 2006 - December 2013, there was reduction (%) in the rates on calls with prepaid phone cards (from the USA):

Israel 10.0 % Japan - Tokyo -36.4 %
Kazakhstan 63.2 % Malaysia 66.7 %
Pakistan 20.0 % Uzbekistan 33.9 %
Canada 55.6 % Mexico - Mexico City 80.0 %
USA - Continental 40.0 % Argentina 36.2 %
Bolivia -10.9 % Brazil 44.8 %

So the largest declines were observed for India - 84.0%. The rates only did not change to Australia. However, there are some destinations where the rates had gone up. The most increase was for Japan - Tokyo - 36.4%, Chile - 33.3%.

In January 2014 - February 2014, rates' reduction (%) was:

As we can see, the rates changed nowhere in this period of time.

More statistics:

  • Calling cards with a maintenance fee: the rates are at least 10% lower than those without a maintenance fee.
  • Jupiter card
    • It has so many local access numbers that most people will not need the toll-free number. Using the toll-free access number costs
      1 cent/min more than local access.
    • The amount of cards sold comes up to 53% of the total sales
      in separate months.
    • Some of the users buy and recharge this card up to 9 times !!!
      and spend up to $130 a month.
  • Fast World card
    • The rates are 70% to 90% cheaper than AT&T card from the most locations.
    • The amount of cards sold comes up to 56% of the total sales
      in separate months.
  • Continental card
    • Over 11 handy features in one card!
    • The amount of cards sold comes up to 75% of the total sales
      in separate months.
    • Some of the users buy and recharge this card up to 14 times !!!
      and spend up to $120 a month.
  • Simply card
    • The surcharge is only 0.2 cents per minute extra for using a toll-free access number in the USA. Whereas other phone cards charge
      an extra 1 to 3 cents per minute for using a toll-free access.
    • The amount of cards sold comes up to 20% of the total sales
      in separate months.
    • One of the users once was buying and recharging the Simply cards
      13 times for a month! He spent $260 on them at the time!
